Strings take wings in Fremantle

May 26th, 2009 by Shani

strings-festival-logoA number of Freo’s cafes, restaurants and other businesses are offering their patrons free chamber music performances between 24 June and 9 July.

These businesses are hosting the musicians as part of the Fremantle Winter Strings Festival. They are hoping to raise the profile of string instrument playing, and to raise awareness of the Concert Series which follows.

The Concert Series includes concerts, masterclasses and other presentations. It’s all part of the Australian Strings Association National Conference, being held at the Esplanade Hotel, 9 to 13 July 2009.

All of the Festival performances are open to the public, with ticketing through BOCS. The concerts will be spread over the duration of the conference.
