Sustainability is a focus at The Painted Fish. Guests experience photovoltaic electricity generation, rain water harvesting, and innovative heating and cooling systems in a series of climatically sensitive, retrofitted dwellings.

The property is also a living gallery, with many local artists providing soft furnishings, sculpture and paintings.

Fremantle (not Freemantle) is part of the city of Perth, Western Australia. An active port, Fremantle is a really interesting base for a holiday in and around Perth. The CBD of Perth is only a 25 min drive from The Painted Fish.
